A free communication tool after a stroke

A stroke can take away speech while leaving everything else — the thoughts, the person, the wish to be heard. My Voice is a simple, free tool that speaks for someone who can’t easily find the words: big buttons for everyday needs, feelings and emergencies, read aloud in a natural voice.

It opens in a new tab in your language, and works on a phone, tablet or computer.

What it does

  • Big, clear buttons for everyday phrases — “I need the toilet”, “I’m in pain”, “I love you” — spoken aloud in a natural voice.
  • Emotion cards, an emergency screen, and a “build a sentence” helper for saying something new.
  • Carer settings: pick the care needs that fit (weak hand, aphasia, low vision) and the app sets itself up — bigger buttons, high contrast, switch scanning.

Who it’s for

Stroke survivors — especially with aphasia — and the families and carers beside them. No sign-up, no cost, nothing to install.

Free, and a work in progress

This is an early prototype we’re sharing openly in the hope it helps. Use it, share it, and tell us what would make it better.

These free tools come from Valora Parentis. If it's the whole computer that overwhelms someone — not just a phone or a message, often after a stroke — that's what we make: a Windows app that turns it into one calm screen of a few big buttons. One payment, no subscription. See the Valora Parentis app for Windows
