A calm view of today

When the shape of a day slips out of focus — the date, what happens next, whether someone is coming — a calm screen can help. My Day answers one gentle question, “what’s happening right now?”: the greeting, the time, the day and date, where you are, and what’s on now and next. No menus, nothing to search for.

It opens in a new tab in your language, and works on a phone, tablet or computer — even offline once it’s open.

What it does

  • One calm screen — a greeting by name, a big clock, the day and date, and where they are: “Good morning, John. Today is Thursday. You’re at home.”
  • “Right now” and “next” shown large, with the whole day laid out in order and a small needle that tracks the time down the schedule.
  • A carer sets it up — the day’s plan and reassuring reminders — with bigger text, high contrast, a seeing-side layout, read-aloud, and an optional companion that changes with the hours.

Who it’s for

Anyone who finds the day harder to hold onto — after a stroke, with dementia or memory changes — and the families and carers beside them. No sign-up, no cost, nothing to install.

Free, and a work in progress

This is an early prototype we’re sharing openly in the hope it helps. It’s a calm way to see the day — not an alarm, a medical reminder or a care service, and it replaces nothing already in place. Use it, share it, and tell us what would make it better.

These free tools come from Valora Parentis. If it's the whole computer that overwhelms someone — not just a phone or a message, often after a stroke — that's what we make: a Windows app that turns it into one calm screen of a few big buttons.
